Polyaspartic floors
What is a polyaspartic floor coating
This is the flooring material you turn to when you want a tough and strong coating to protect your concrete flooring and slabs. This flooring option is a hybrid option that resembles polyurethane.
It is so tough that when it was invented in the 1990s, it was used on different bridges to protect their steel components. This material is also corrosion resistant and the good aspect of this flooring option is that the manufacturers can customize ingredients to meet specific needs or applications.
In addition, you can add color to it to match the rest of the room’s decor. This is a durable, quick-drying floor covering that lasts you a long time.
Pros and cons of polyaspartic
Pros:

  1. customize- you get to choose the color, finish, and mix-ins
  2. durable- comes with a stain and scratch-resistant finish
  3. versatile- it can be applied no matter the weather or the temperature
  4. no-off gassing- that means you can breathe easily when in the same room with this coating
  5. quick-drying- after application you may only need to wait 30 to 60 minutes before using the area again. It dries that quickly
  6. color won’t fade- even when exposed to UV rays, the color remains the same
Cons:

  1. expensive- check your budget to make sure you can afford this material
  2. vulnerable to battery acid- be careful when handling that product, acid spills can hurt the floor
  3. delamination is possible- but only if your flooring gives off moisture
  4. may dry too quickly- can dry before you are finished coating the floor causing issues like bubbling etc.

Polyaspartic garage floor cost

Epoxy is charged by the square foot but this flooring material is charged by the gallon. That means that you do not have to buy more coating than you need. The prices will vary depending on the outlet but you can get this two-part formula for approx. $129 per gallon.

It is a little expensive but the positives outweigh the high cost.
